Civil LitigationThe civil litigation practice of Cousineau McGuire currently has 22 attorneys, practicing in diverse areas related primarily, but not solely, to insurance coverage. In addition to our relationship with numerous insurers across the country, we have represented major manufacturers, self insureds, and businesses throughout the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. Included within our ranks are lawyers who have been named "Super Lawyers" by the Minnesota Journal of Law & Politics on numerous occasions. Those attorneys have earned this distinction by their consistent ethical practices in the practice of law, while aggressively and successfully advocating for their clients in the courts of Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. Further, our attorneys have practiced insurance coverage litigation in the courts of North Dakota and South Dakota, when requested. In addition to the Firm's AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell, almost all of our experienced lawyers, and all of our partners are AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Several of our partners have been cited in the Best Lawyers in America, and have been certified as well as civil trial specialists by the Minnesota State Bar Association. William F. Davern, Peter G. Van Bergen and Barbara Ann Burke have also been honored as members of the American Board of Trial Advocates. In addition to their success at the trial court level, the civil litigation attorneys of Cousineau McGuire also lecture and have been selected to lecture on numerous occasions as part of their professional activities. While success at trial is often the predicate for a success appeal, our civil litigation practice also encompasses an appellate section. Our attorneys in our appellate group have a demonstrated expertise and record in briefing and arguing appellate insurance coverage litigation cases in the state and federal courts in which the firm practices. |
